Shelter Page

This is my personal take on shelters while hiking. I’ve come to see my shelter as an emergency item that I must carry while hoping I won’t have to use it. I carry a Gossamer Gear SpinnShelter. It’s not perfect but I’ve used it in different circumstantes and it does the job.

This is a Go Light shelter. It was light but didn't close in the front which was a problem for horizontal rain in New Zealand.

The stakes are super light but round shape and they don't hold very well in the sand. I spent half a night once fixing these while it was raining + wind.

A natural shelter will do as well along the Sheltowee Trace in Kentucky.

Only place I could have had problem was Tasmania. This part of the island was under heavy rain so even the boardwalk was under water. Can't sleep here!
